Good optical stores alternative other than Clearly?

Been bored off their selections since I've been with them for a decade and bought dozens pairs of glasses already...any good alternative?

I am liking NextPair but not Canadian, not sure if Manulife cover it since their claim tool only has Canadian provinces listed...

To the moon

You can get reading glasses anywhere. On your prescription there will be a number with a + in front of it. Just get a pair that has that number. No one will make you custom reading glasses because it's pointless.

Yes they will. For the (very) near-sighted for one. Will be out of focus otherwise.

I don't know if they're any good, but they're a Vancouver company. Founders had worked at Clearly before it sold out to everyone's favourite Essilor/Luxottica.

Zenni has been my goto for years. They have both a .com and a .ca site. Both ship to Canadian addresses. They seem to be a step up in quality from both Clearly and goggles4u, which I have also used. They often have coupons around major US shopping holidays. I've never had a problem claiming them under my benefits package.

I get custom reading glasses every two years from my optometrist. They charge a lot but I don't care since my insurance covers the entire cost.

Nearsighted means you have trouble seeing far.

I've gotten glasses online, through my optician, as well as at Costco.

Several years ago I had used Zenni when I was looking for a really cheap option for a back-up pair of glasses. No issues. A couple of years ago I used Kits and found their coatings (anti-glare and blue light) really problematic. Even when washed with soap and water I could not get the lenses streak-free and this drove me nuts. A number of months ago I had the Kits lenses replaced at the optical place in Superstore. I liked the frames so just had the lenses replaced and these lenses are streak-free when cleaning.

Well aware of that. As in trouble seeing more than a foot away from my face. Non-Rx reading glasses ain't going to help.

I have no idea what you're trying to say. You have myopia and presbyopia? Ok? And?

Pretty much. Near-sighted enough I can't read a book without Rx glasses unless it's < 1' away from my face (uncomfortable to say the least), and lenses in my eyes have hardened so if I am wearing distance glasses, can't see anything < 3' away from my face, unless perhaps, in a very brightly-lit room (LED lighting need no apply). Hence the need for Rx glasses to see 1.5 - 3' away from my face.

Any recommendations for retailers with asian fit glasses? And that also carries 1.74 high index lenses?
I checked at Costco already, but the thinnest they carry is 1.67.

May I ask how much did you end up paying? I have the same issue, my overly coated lenses are useless after few months..

I don't recall the price and don't have my receipt handy. I do recall getting 60K bonus points as RCSS had a promo on at the time.
