When last seen, the vehicle had a paper license plate in the upper right of the rear window and a sticker in the lower left corner of the forward passenger-side window. This vehicle is wanted in connection to a homicide that occurred on November 6, 2023. If you have any information to identify this vehicle, GRPD is asking for your help. GRAND RAPIDS POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyGRPD Releases Suspect Vehicle Information, Victim Identification in 3/17 Fatal Hit and Run UPDATE: Based on the current status of the investigation and evidence collected, GRPD has the following updates to the below incident: •The victim has been identified as Donna Nguyen, aged 55. •Based on evidence collected on scene, the suspect vehicle is confirmed to be a Ford. Investigators strongly believe the vehicle to be a blue 2019 Ford Fusion. There will be significant damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle, including a damaged headlight, bumper, hood, and fender. •The vehicle fled the scene going west on 28th Street. Anyone with any information, including any surveillance video as the vehicle left the scene, is encouraged to contact Officer Tyler Kohl at (616) 456-4531 (tkohl@grcity.us) or Officer Justin Ewald at (616) 456-4282 (jewald@grcity.us). For Immediate Release March 17, 2024 GRPD Investigating Fatal Hit and Run GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – At approximately 2:10 a.m., 55-year-old Wyoming woman was struck and killed by a westbound vehicle at 28th and Eastern SE. The vehicle fled the scene. Life saving measures were attempted, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Witnesses described the striking vehicle as a dark colored mid-sized SUV. Initial evidence indicates the vehicle was likely a Ford and will have significant front-end damage. The crash remains under investigation by the GRPD Traffic Unit. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification. If anyone knows of anyone that is in the legal Field please let me know. He currently owes me and my brother $2,300 for some items that we signed a contract on and let him put in his “consignment store”. So if anyone wants to catch this damn crook let me know. GRPD Asking for the Community’s Help to Identify a Person of Interest in 3/10 Fatal Hit and Run UPDATE: GRPD has identified a person of interest in the below incident. If anyone can help identify or locate this individual, please contact GRPD or Silent Observer. Silent Observer is offering up to $3,200 for tips leading to an arrest in this incident. NOTE: Photos of the person of interest and of the undamaged vehicle prior to the crash are attached. March 14, 2024 GRPD Releases Suspect Vehicle Information, Victim Identification in 3/10 Fatal Hit and Run UPDATE: Based on the current status of the investigation and evidence collection, GRPD has the following updates to this incident: •The victim has been identified as Roberto Delgato, aged 53. •Based on evidence collected at the scene, the suspect vehicle is confirmed to be a Honda, and investigators strongly believe it to be a 2006 – 2008 Honda Pilot, dark in color (black, grey, or dark blue). There will be significant damage to the driver’s side headlight (the headlight itself and the area surrounding it) and very likely, damage to the hood on the driver’s side. It is also likely the windshield is cracked. •The vehicle fled the scene going north on Division, and then turned east onto Burton. Video suggests the vehicle may have turned north onto Francis Ave SE. “We are asking anyone who may have information about this fatal crash to contact GRPD or provide tips anonymously through Silent Observer,” said Officer Alex Thompson, the lead investigator. “We also encourage businesses or residents in the area of Burton and Francis to check any available surveillance camera footage to help us determine where the suspect vehicle may have traveled as it left the scene. We will follow every possible lead to hold this driver accountable and seek justice for Mr. Delgato.” NOTE: Stills of the suspect vehicle from video surveillance are attached.
