Description Of WorkThis position is located at the Black Mountain Substance Abuse Treatment Center for Women in Swannanoa, NC. Black Mountain Substance Abuse Treatment Center for Women is a 64-bed residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of substance use disorder treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community. Currently, this employee’s primary tasking is as a Building Administrator, receiving, direct supervision from the Human Services Program Manager II (Facility Manager).

At this facility, the Substance Abuse Program Coordinator (SAPC) is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the assigned residential building (s) through direct supervision of the Substance Abuse Worker (SAW) staff. Specific tasks include developing work schedules, delegating duties, supervising daily activities within the building, and monitoring/interacting with residents/staff to ensure building safety, security and audit compliance. This employee conducts performance appraisals and delivers disciplinary actions to assigned staff as necessary.

The SAPC collaborates closely with other ACDP program located at Western Correctional Center for Women (WCCW) clinical, medical, and administrative management staff to ensure the coordination of a broad array of facility service delivery and ongoing staff development/training as required in policy.

Additionally, as a credentialed clinical professional, this employee may be assigned to assist in the provision of clinical services, treatment components and/or supervision during periods of staff shortage or other circ*mstances, to include assignment at other ACDP in-prison clinical locations.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits .

• High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years’ experience working in a criminal justice environment within a correctional facility, jail-based substance abuse treatment program, or a community-based substance treatment program that serves offenders adjudicated through the criminal justice system after credentialing has been obtained.

Necessary Special Qualifications Credentialed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) or in an equivalent credential from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board to practice under the provisions of the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board.

NOTE To obtain certified status in the CADC credential, one must complete three (3) years of counseling under the supervision of a licensed professional and satisfy these requirements of the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board . Out-of-state applicants with similar credentials from an IC&RC Member Board will also be considered.

Alternatively, Applicants Possessing One Of These Credentials From a Governing Authority Recognized By The NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board Will Be Considered
