What is NieR:Automata
NieR:Automata is a game developed by PlatinumGames, led for this title by Yoko Taro, the creator of the Drakengard series and the Nier series. Although much more popular and considered a first chapter, NieR:Automata is actually a sequel to the game Nier released on 22 April 2010, and then remastered with Replicant on 23 April 2021. Several thousand years after the events of the first Nier, Automata features the android 2B fighting against the Machines, alien robotic entities, as part of the conflict between these Machines and the forces of humanity replaced by Androids.
During the course of the story, we will discover more not only about what remains of the Earth after humans have moved to the Moon, but also more about the Androids themselves like 2B. All accompanied by a hack & slash with JRPG tones in which we will guide 2B through the ruins of the earth to continue and complete the mission of all Androids, defeat the Machines, and reclaim the Earth. A game that has become a cult over the years and has carved out a slice of enthusiastic fans and that these days is often compared to Stellar Blade. A PS5 exclusive game currently released, which shares a very similar game world and decidedly inspired characters, but instead offers a different gameplay more in the style of soulslike than a true hack & slash.
