Dieses Jahr haben Fan-Modder eine Total-Conversion des LucasArts-Klassikers TIE Fighter für X-Wing Alliance veröffentlicht. Jetzt ist die Version 1.2 des Weltraum-Shooters erschienen - der Patch bringt signifikante Änderungen beim Gameplay sowie optische Verbesserungen. Die Patchnotes umfassen mehr als 20 DIN-A4-Seiten.
Star-Wars-Fans, die wie Anakin Skywalker der dunklen Seite der Macht zugetan sind, können ihrer Wut über die Rebellen wieder ein wenig schöner Luft machen. Denn die von Fan-Moddern erstellte Total-Conversion des Shooter-Klassikers TIE Fighter für X-Wing Alliance ist heute auf die Version 1.2 gepatcht worden. Die Neuerungen umfassen - unter anderem - signifikante Änderungen beim Gameplay, die weitere Ausbalancierung der Fan-Kampagne sowie optische Verbesserungen. Die Betonung liegt dabei auf unter anderem, die offiziellen Patchnotes erstrecken sich nämlich über mehr als 20 DIN-A4-Seiten.
TFTC: Die wichtigsten Gameplay-Neuerungen
Die im Patch 1.2 enthaltenen Gameplay-Änderungen betreffen in Teilen sowohl die klassische Kampagne als auch die Fan-Kampagne "Reimagined". Am meisten aber haben die Modder, die sich namentlich nicht näher zu erkennen geben, an den Original-Missionen geschraubt. Die wichtigsten Änderungen sind im Einzelnen:
- Der Energietransfer vom Laser zu den Schilden wurde um 100 Prozent erhöht.
- Bomber feuern nur noch zwei Torpedos je Angriff, mit einem Limit von sechs Torpedos je Ziel, wenn es von mehreren Bombern angegriffen wird. Dies soll das insgesamt zu hohe Torpedoaufkommen reduzieren.
- Nach einem Raketentreffer dreht sich der Fighter nicht mehr unkontrollierbar.
- Die Maximalgeschwindigkeit kann nun unabhängig vom gegenwärtigen Flugtempo erreicht werden.
- Hitpoints von Hüllen und Schilden sind global angepasst worden.
- Imperiale Corvette der Raider-Klasse implementiert. Sie taucht hauptsächlich während der Reimagined-Kampagne auf, ist vereinzelt jetzt aber auch in den Original-Missionen zu finden, wo sie jeweils ein anderes Schiff ersetzt.
- Demo-Mission aus TIE Fighter hinzugefügt. Sie ist während der Simulation im Menü "Trainingsmissionen" zu finden.
Änderungen bei Optik und Audio
- Überarbeiteter und abgedunkelter Nebel sowie angepasste Beleuchtung bei vielen Missionen.
- Einige Planeten und Monde durch höher aufgelöste Versionen ersetzt.
- Gozanti-Kreuzer jetzt mit verbessertem Modell von DTM.
- Neue Explosionen und Partikel- sowie Treffereffekte von MechDonald und Blue Max.
- Neues Voiceover für Admiral Harkov in der Reimagined-Kampagne.
- Einige Soundeffekte aus dem originalen TIE Fighter hinzugefügt, im Besonderen Geräusche von Schildtreffern und der Zielsuche.
Die TIE Fighter Total-Conversion basiert auf der X-Wing Alliance Upgrade Mod, die die Engine aus dem Jahr 1999 stark erweitert und so eine deutlich schickere Optik ermöglicht. Es sind alle 13 Missionen des klassischen TIE Fighter von Lucas Arts enthalten; obendrauf gibt es eine von den Fan-Moddern gestaltete Reimagined-Kampagne, die acht Einsätze umfasst. Zum Spielen der Total-Conversion wird eine Kopie des Originalspiels Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance benötigt. Diese kann bei Steam erworben werden, bei GOG ist das Spiel gerade um 65 Prozent reduziert.
