Sayaji Baug in Vadodara is a popular and spacious park that provides a pleasant retreat from the city’s busy atmosphere. The extensive gardens, zoo, planetarium, and museum offer a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. The park’s greenery and well-maintained landscapes make it an inviting place for a relaxing walk or picnic. However, there are a few aspects that warrant caution. Some areas of the park, particularly in the evenings, are known to be frequented by couples and might display more adult behavior, which can be uncomfortable for families with children. The maintenance of certain sections, including the zoo, also leaves something to be desired, with outdated facilities and inconsistent cleanliness. Crowding can be an issue during weekends and holidays, which can detract from the overall experience.

Nice place for the children many more rides like Syaji express train, animal zoo, many small children playing rides etc. And you can take lunch inside the garden and facilities are also available in the garden for the lunch. A great day out with family. Had lots of fun. Place is really kid friendly and promotes learning. Walk-in aviary was just great. I would just have loved it if they accepted any other mode of payment than cash.

The zoo boasts an impressive collection of animals from around the world, and it's evident that great care has been taken to ensure their well-being. From majestic tigers to playful primates, from graceful birds to fascinating reptiles, each enclosure offers a glimpse into the rich tapestry of the animal kingdom. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to witness the animals in their natural habitats. The enclosures are spacious, allowing the animals to move freely and engage in their natural behaviors. It was truly a joy to see the tigers lounging in the shade, the monkeys swinging from branch to branch, and the birds soaring through the air.The zoo also offers various educational and interactive experiences. There are informative placards near each enclosure, providing insights into the animals' characteristics and conservation efforts. Additionally, the zoo hosts engaging shows and feeding sessions, allowing visitors to learn more about the animals and their conservation.

Beautiful place, surely, you should visit it once. The garden, food facilities out side near the gates, parking facilities, sitting arrangement, greenary, & the great sir Sayaji Rao museum all things are superb with mind refreshing & relaxing atmosphere.Even having these many facilities & places, there is no entry/visit fees at all. You don't need to pay for a visit. For those who want to discover whole garden & zoo, museum, on vehicle, or along with family you will also get the facilitiy of electrical car and the mini train for roaming around whole garden & all places (approx 2 km) & the cost is also very low, not more than 200rs.You you want to spend some quality time, then this place is much worthy.

This is a beautiful world by itself in the middle of a bustling heritage city! A must visit for its simplicity, old world charm and a reminder that simple things still make us happy.Walk around at your pace and stop, sit, relax and then walk again. If you are someone who enjoys the idea of a picnic - pack one and with your family/ friends enjoy. It also has a zoo inside and a good one at that. So keep some time when you go here to say hello to the four-legged friends. You actually find animals and not just name enclosures. The best thing though is the Sayaji Express Toy train! It is a step back into childhood and throw in the right company and can also be a romantic ride. It is a 15 min ride and costs 50 rupees. It is mostly in the evening and at one time the train can seat 150 people, so even if the line looks long, your chance will come quickly.Parking is a challenge, you will have to find a place some distance away. The weather in the city is mostly hot and humid so wear loose, cotton clothes and carry a cap.

A good zoo needs many improvements for public easiness. A long walk before entrance, not a single water or food stall makes tired early in summer. Bad smell from the zoo. Limited animals while lots of birds and net all over is a good concept to visit them nearer.

Sayajibaug Zoo is a delightful destination for a day outing, boasting a diverse array of animals amidst a beautiful landscape. Nevertheless, some visitors might note the slightly dated infrastructure and a collection that is not as extensive as larger zoos. However, overall, it is frequently regarded as an excellent place for a family visit, offering a pleasant experience with a varied range of wildlife.

A very nice place for a family picnic and a get-together in Vadodara but there is a problem with parking on weekends, park your vehicle properly otherwise it will be towed by VMC.There is an Arctic lion, a leopard, monkeys, two tigers, Avary and rides for kids and a lot of park area where you can play badminton.

My second visit to Sayaji Baug zoo after 5 years. It has been overhauled and made completely new but charm remains the same. New aviary section is full of exotic birds. Animal sections are expanded. Nice place to have family picnic and there is famous small train running around the park. Its great addition to Baroda city. Nice joyous place for kids and family.

This is one of tourists place to visit. It has Zoo, Museum and gallery, Toy train ride, Planetarium - currently, under maintenance. Most of the things have nominal tickets. Please visit once, the kids would love toy train ride. Thank you!

This was a marvelous place to visit! The gardens are well maintained. The animals are well cared for. The guards and staff were friendly and helpful. It's a huge area within splendid greenery. There were hundreds of squirrels and birds roaming around freely, without fear of humans. There's a toy train and electric cabs in it too. The Walk-In Aviary was probably the best I've ever seen yet. Birds would be at one's hand's reach literally. There's a bridge spanning across a small river, which has crocodiles in their natural habitats. Such a wholesome experience. I would definitely visit this place again and again, every time I come to Vadodara.

Aradhana M — Google review

Well maintained and clean but in a zoo you expect to see many animals. This zoo only has a lion (not a dangerous looking one).. a couple of tigers and a cheetah .. one or two hippos always under the water... that's it... will take you max 10 mins to see the entire zoo... 8-10 crocodiles in a separate small pond across the bridge... although real ones in the river passing right in the middle of the zoo... aviary is a separate zone... deers are far away nearby the entertainment zone.

Very spacious & large area with good aviary for selected birds. Except for a few tigers, lions, monkeys, hippo & and porcupines, there is nothing as such. There are some crocodiles & alligators as well. The place is more of a recreational park for families, boy friends, girl friends.

Sayaji Baug Zoo and Kamati Baug offer an enchanting escape into nature with abundant greenery. The presence of the Vishwamitri River, home to crocodiles, adds to the allure of the place. The diverse collection of animals, including tigers, lions, leopards, various monkey species, sparrows, peaco*cks, ducks, parrots, and birds from other continents, provides a captivating experience for visitors. The on-site cafeteria serves delicious food, while the mini train offers a fun ride for both kids and adults. The cable bridge offers stunning views of the river, and the museum provides an educational insight into the area's history and wildlife. Overall, Sayaji Baug Zoo and Kamati Baug are a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and animal lovers alike.
